Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - A second career that has been eight years in the making saw its first finished product on Dec. 14 2014 on the Baja California peninsula as Tiger Woods opened his first golf course design.

The course - which is par-72 and stretches out to 7,300 yards - is part of a high-end real estate development that offers frequent views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding dunes.

“I don’t want people to lose a dozen balls when they play our course,” Tiger Woods said of his El Cardonal course. “Pinehurst is a great example of a course that’s tough for us but playable for everybody else. It gets players thinking, with options around the greens. We want lots of variety.”

Woods tweeted, "Things are really starting to take shape." Here, he's standing on the edge of what will soon be a bunker in the third-hole fairway. You can see its outline traced in red.
